VISA Electron cards are available & the trick is using one to bypass Ryanair's "card fees" - the Halifax Easycash account comes with one for anyone who's looking :)

The only card they don't charge for is Visa Electron - the rest you get charged £4 per flight leg per person.

    Rip off bigtime.

Total cost for two return flights = £20. Rip off?

PandaPants, you can occasionally get sale prices on Sundays - I have for EMA to MAD previously x

I just checked a Saturday in September and can get a 0p flight out (important to remember that this then means taxes to be added) but can get a £1 flight home with no taxes so until the terms and conditions are up on the website you really just need to play about with flights.

If I remember correctly last year's offer about this time was the 1p flights with no taxes but taxes were charged on Monday and Saturday mornings.

Yes - £16 of your flights is card fees. That is a rip off. Nothing to do with £1 flights. Mrs Harper booked a flight yesterday for over £100 with them but had to pay £8 in fees. That was still a rip off.

2% fees I can handle and £16 would be appropriate on a £800 booking.

you put £4.00 on a credit card?

No, I put £20.00 on a credit card. Is there a problem with that??

The credit card charges are a rip off, but hey I got 2 return tickets to Dublin for £20, so I'm not complaining at all.

We all know that the whole £4 does not go towards card fees. So you take the amount as a whole, and then realise that no way is £20 for two return flights a rip off!

Perhaps you would be happier if we went back to a few years ago, when all fees were included? If so, for the route that I most often deal with, I would be looking at at least £100 each return (and this would not reflect the price increases and fuel surcharges in recent years). Would you rather pay that, just so that you don't think that you are being ripped off?

Here's a link to the flights from £1:
    http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/?fares=more

And some of them can be taken outside of September, e.g. London to Dublin can be taken between 1st Sep and 31st Jan. Some flights can be taken on Saturdays too, but after 12 noon I think. School holiday restrictions seem to apply too. The ones that i was looking at needed to be booked by Monday 4th August though, so do it quickly! Hope this helps!

P.S. The £1 flights with no taxes seems to be a better deal than the £0 flights with taxes on top.
