Ask at your local library or phone East Lothian Council. The council publish a paper which usually gets distributed to all households eventually, however often places fill up quick. These can normally be picked up at Librarys, and community centres etc.
• thanks,

i'll have a look at the library today.

Doesn't look like theres any info published as yet - nothing on the website www.eastlothian.gov.uk

It just says to email cldhaddington@eastlothian.gov.uk or call 01620 827606 if you want further info on adult ed.

From what I remember of previous years its also in the local papers when the courses are first publicised but theres not a huge range to choose from either - depends on what you want to do. There seemed to be an emphasis on things like languages, cake decorating and art I think.
• i was hoping there'd be a photography course

• The local focus magazine, usually gets distributed a week or so before the schools go back with most courses starting the begining of september.

Good luck with your course!

Hello again ZHR, funnily enough I was looking for a photography course last year but there were none being put on at that time :p . I was advised to join one of the photography clubs [apparently one in Haddington] and get advice and help that way but didn't as it wasn't really what I was looking for.

There are some courses in Edinburgh but they didn't fit in with my job and I couldn't afford them anyway. So I'd be interested to hear if you find one as I'm still on the look out. There was someone doing intensive private day time photography courses in EL but again it clashed with my job. Don't have a link to their website any more unfortunately as lost all my 'favourites' on AOL.

Good luck Teapot
• i have sent an email to the address you provided asking for details... won't hold my breath.

Dependant on cost i would consider a private tuition.

Can you remember how much it was? ballpark figure would be fine.

Have had a google and this is the link http://www.phototours-lothian.com/

As you can see, there are no up coming courses listed but I guess it would be worth emailing to ask if shes putting any on. The residential courses seem to run throughout the year - not sure what the day rate is for them - couldn't see a booking form to get the info?

Don't know if this is the kind of thing you are looking for.....

Jeez... they ain't cheap are they!? don't think i can stretch to that.

I found the Haddington Camera Club website. seems like it might be worth checking out. i don't know if they expressly tutor beginners but i can but ask.
