finance from currys
Hi
dont know wheather im on the right thread or not,or any of you guys have got any sugestions, but here goes.
Couple of weeks ago wife got a new tv from currys, all working fine & no problems, she just recived a phone call from them, asking her to go in as they've mislaid the stores copy of the finance agreement (the direct debit mandate signed by her at the time & the store manager) & want her to sign another asap so it can go off to the finance company i presume so they get paid.we cant go in tonight due to prior commitments,so what happens now? do we leave it for abit, afterall aint our fault theyve lost it? & what powers do currys have to getting her to sign it,i guess no moneys cant be taken from her account without the direct debit mandate am i right.
What do you guys suggest

hmm i would imagine they would just ask for the tv back as you would'nt be paying for it, though it is there fault for losing the mandate. I's imagine you would get something through the post from the finance company requesting it.0

seems a bit of a cheek to ask you to come into the shop... surely they can simply send you a new DD mandate by post?
In any event i'ld check very carefully anything you sign to make sure no little changes have occurred.0 -
I understand that it is their mistake for losing the DD mandate but if this is a roundabout way of asking whether you now have the TV for free, the answer is no. You still owe them the money whether they have lost the documents or not.

They lost the documents, ask them to come to you at a convenient time, if they want them signing. However, the most worrying thing is that they have lost a document with all your details and signature on. If it has your bank account details and signature on, you want to get your account number changed, which will be a lot of hassle, but make sure Curry's compensate you for this before you sign anything.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0
