Ok... how do us ladies, non-surgically, rid ourselves of bingo wings? I'd do surgery, but can't afford it
, so what options are left?

Don't feel to bad about them, even Madonna has them apparently!!
That said I will be watching this thread with interest!!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
Yeah, and she hides them well
Maybe that's it.. I'll hide them some how. 0 -
That's the answer - don't wear short sleeved tops. Ever

I've tried [STRIKE]loads[/STRIKE] all off the various creams lotions and potions for all things wobbly, and none of them (surprisingly  ) work. I think it's going to be down to exercise for this one. My friend says that when she does weights she notices a difference in around 6 weeks. Problem with that for me is that I get fed up after, ooooh, about 6 minutes :rotfl:Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
Exercise only works if you do the aerobic stuff on top of weights - otherwise the muscles just lie under the fat and make them bigger - speaks from experience - sigh!!!!
I lost heaps of weight a while back as well and the skin just sits there staring at you!!!! I need surgery!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Noli nothis permittere te terere

i have also lost loads of weight and my bingo wings were HUGE!!!
i got myself some small dumbells and marched with them when i was on the treadmill, then i started doing various raising of arms, lifts etc again whilst on the treadmill (figured better use of time do both at same time lol)
anyways i have lost inches off my arms, yes still have a bit of wings but hey i am an old bird thats natural but i do now wear sleeveless tops where i wouldnt before
HTHWhen you know better you do better0 -
You could try standing with your back to the bath with your hands placed palm down fingers forward and then just lower yourself vertically so that your arms bend at the elbow behind you. Don't lower yourself too much, you dont really want your arms higher than a 90 degree angle.
Obviously you dont have to use your bath (it just so happens we have a really deep bath so its the ideal height
)but any surface would work just so long as you watch your knees - dont use a surface too low. A normal dining chair would probably work quite well.
Anyway, hopefully my admittedly rambling explanation
will make sense to someone. I do about 8 of these about 3 times a day, then the next day I do 10 repititions and find it much easier (as they say, if you dont use it you lose it! and when you start using these muscles again they respond usually quite quickly in terms of strength)
Make sure you stretch the muscle out again afterwards, best way is to raise your arm next to your head and bend it at the elbow behind your head. You can apply gentle pressure by using your other hand but do not push it back by holding your elbow. Try to keep your shoulders relaxed. Also wrap both arms around your body and give yourself a nice hug - this stretches out really well too.
Other than this I would really recommend swimming if you have time, particularly breast stroke - when I swam daily my arms were the best they've ever been. Also if you really dont fancy either of these, then get the tin of baked beans out of the cupboard and gently (dont whizz it out there!:rotfl: ) extend your arm behind you, keeping your hand with the palm facing you (iow dont rotate your hand and the beans when its behind your back - do it in a mirror as loads of people rotate it naturally without thinking)
Hope this helps.0 -
Hi
I think that the answer is exercise as the above have posted. Google it and I cam up with one for the GMTV website and this one http://www.realbuzz.com/en-gb/Tone_your_arms/index?pageID=1073.0 -
Wear tops with 3/4 length sleeves, or those 'angel' sleeves that are fluted and/or quite floaty - that will disguise most problems with bingo wings, and also make the bottom bit of your forearms look really slim by comparison (I use this tip a lot!) The split angel sleeves are particularly good, as they only show a small sliver of arm to the shoulder, but feel nice and cool in hot weather, so the best of both worlds. And luckily they are fashionable at the moment, so easy to pick up (try Ebay for starters).
The other possible solution is to use a fake tan on your arms, as (IME) a nice even colour tends to make the baggy bits look less obvious!
Unless you fancy doing the weights ........

You don't see many netball players (even very mature ladies) with bingo wing arms.;)
A fun way to exercise and target the upper arms is to practise shooting with a netball and netball goal ring. You can practise alone or with children.;)
Here is a link to a £14.99 set from Argos:

The correct height for a netball goal ring is 10ft............which can be fixed to the side of a house.
Lift the netball above (and slightly behind) your head and throw it, aiming to get the ball inside the goal ring and through the net.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride.
