Amazon postage query!!!

Hello, I have never bought anything from Amazon, but saw a book on there that I wanted, so put it into my basket. It was through Just Books, and then I saw a couple more that I wanted also through Just Books. I added the books to my basket and when I went to pay I realised that I had been charged three lots of postage, £2.75 for each book, which cancelled out any benefit I had got from buying through Amazon in the first place.

Am I doing something wrong, and are there any tips to getting the most out of buying through Amazon.

It may just be that I have had too much sun today and the old brain cells are frazzled!
:hello:  please play nicely children !

From Amazon, I didnt even know this was how they did it either! Usually what puts me off buying from the Marketplace, the delivery cost.

Calculating total delivery cost when you purchase more than one item
As Marketplace orders are dispatched from different individual sellers, you pay a separate delivery charge for each item you order. This is the case even if you order a number of items from the same seller at the same time. Therefore, to calculate the total delivery charge, add together the appropriate delivery rates for each item.
You'll also pay a separate delivery charge for any Amazon.co.uk items in the same order. For example, if you place one order that contains three Amazon.co.uk items and two Marketplace items, there'll be three separate delivery charges: one charge for the Amazon.co.uk items and one charge for each of the Marketplace items.
We display the domestic standard delivery fee associated with seller offerings to make the potential delivery costs more clear. The delivery price associated with a particular item is also displayed while placing your order.

You only get the free delivery if you buy from amazon itself, and spend over £15 in one transaction. Individual sellers may be cheaper/with smaller p&p for individual purchases but not so great if,like you,you buy 3 items from one seller!

It seems that it is specifically designed to part you from as much of your money as possible! Surely it doesn't cost that much in postage if you are buying buying all from the same supplier. Its cheaper to go down the high street and pay full price!

  • You just have to remember to differentiate between Amazon Marketplace traders and Amazon themselves.

check out the three same items if you buy direct from Amazon seller rather than a market place trader will probably be alot cheaper by the time you get free postage.
