cleaning flask/travel mug

DH takes a stainless steel flask and one of those travel mugs (stainless steel on outside, plastic inside) with coffee to work.
Problem is he says if they go in dishwasher or you use w/up liquid on them, he can taste it :mad:
How I can get rid of the coffee staining and coffee smell? I regularly put bicarbonate of soda and water but it doesn't really work.
any ideas?

I take a flask to work so I know what you mean - I get a piece of green scrubby and wrap it round a knife, then scrub away!
A good rinse in boiling water makes it like new then.

Hi,
I use milton (well wilko's own about 80p a bottle) leave overnight then swill out in the morningSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
Hubby's flask is the same - his flasks are not too sweet smelling - I use half of a milton sterilizing tab or some liquid, another option would be to rub salt in it and its amazing how grubby and horrible the salt gets!!! Rinse either of these ideas well with plenty cold water good luck!Every days a School day!0
