The website says they are very expensive

we charge up to 1.5% of the loan amount for residential mortgages and up to 2.5% for buy-to-let mortgages.

I just spoke to a rep who said their range of fees can be as high as 1.5% depending on ... Due to my circumstances I was quoted a fee of £650 due to my large deposit requiring a mortgage of £60k. He said this was £100 less than there minimum charge.

Always reminds me of the TC show " to a manor born"

Better off with a small experienced self employed broker. I know Chase Devere, they send people on a few weeks training most of which is irrelevant to the real world. They give an impression of added value by virtue of thier posh name.
  • I don`t know if this is of any help. I used chase devere 15 years ago when they were small with an office in central london and one in bath(I think), for advice and purchase of PEP`s. They were great and had a personal touch. Then they grew and got taken over by AWD. I stopped using them and transferred my investments due to the loss of personal contact and what appeared to be generic advise on future investments. The introduced call centers. I believe the poster regarding the lack of experience of advisors.

Just for your info even though it does not relate to mortgage advice/facilities.
