Choice Stationery are celebrating their 6th birthday with some cracking "Devil's Dozen" offers. Each dozen consists of 6 black and 6 colour compatible cartridges. I've used them for years; excellent quality, prices and service. Examples of Devil's Dozens, including VAT, P&P:

Epson Stylus Colour 400/600/440/460/640/660/670/740/760/860/1160/SCAN2000/2500: £19 per dozen

    Epson Stylus C42/C42+/C42UX/C44/C44+/C44UX/Photo 830/830u: £35 per dozen

Found this on the Rpoints board. Never ordered from them myself, but the person who posted said he'd used them for 2 years and had no complaints. I'd just purchased 1 colour and black compatible for my 760 from Photoglossy.com and that came to £6.80, so think I'll take a gamble on this. And, of course, it's not really a gamble, because if they don't work - you can get your money back or replacements.

One other note - this offer is not exactly easy to find. I found it by searching for my printer, and it was under there. You'd think they'd be shouting from the rooftops with an offer like this, or maybe they don't want too many people taking them up on it.  ;)

basically.. using other brands is usually fine but if you're worried wait until your printer is out of warranty because 3rd party cartridges void it..

I can't believe how expensive the above company (http://www.valueshop.co.uk/) is compared to https://www.choicestationery.com whom I have used for many moons. I have a Epson C70+ and it cost £14.95 inclusive of Vat and postage to replace all the cartridges of which I have found excellent for Photo work etc..........

They're much cheaper than Choice for my Canon cartridges...

    >>>Now l read the comment about some cartirdges can be refilled more than when you buy them - 50%. This is true, for example HP sell two cartridges for some of it's older printers the HP 15 and the HP 45. The box says they are for different printers, when in fact they are identical cartridges, same circuit and shape. The only different is the HP 15 has 22ml of ink and the HP 45 has 42ml of ink. So you would expect the HP 45 to be about double the price - WRONG - the HP 15 is RRP @ £26.99 while the HP 45 is RRP @ £22.49!!

    Bit of a con huh?<<<

True! Except that #15 has 25ml, not 22. It can be refilled to 42ml, I do that regularly.
BUT... the two cartridges are not identical. From the outside, yes, they are the same (checked with a caliper, numbered the contacts etc.) but internal circuitry tells the printer which type is, so my HP920c refuses #45 cartridges and no trick was able to fix that...

So... DON'T BUY #45 cartridges thinking that they will work in a #15 printer (920c, 842c, etc), it WON'T, and the only way of salvaging the investment will be to transfer the ink from a cartridge to the other... and that's MESSY bussiness!

    You've been warned....

  • I've just started using photglossy.com for original lexmarks and I'm finding that alot of remanufactured ones are more expensive. Valueshop.co.uk are good too - that's who I was using before I found this other one.
