One of the reasons you havent heard is probably simply down to the OR's office being busy.....We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Hi Miles,
Also, if when/if they do set up the IPA it won't be backdated, it will be 36 payments from the time it is set up, so you get to keep the money until they get their finger out

We are just worried that the OR will extend the time we have to pay after the one year, cos they applied the IPA late.
Just want to be discharged after one year and not have it drag on.0 -
As peachy said when the OR "eventually" sets up the IPA it'll be 36 mnths from the date it started so its not backdated at all.....and as far as your discharge is concerned that'll be automatic at 12mnths anyhow...that wont be delayedWe all die. I think where you are getting confused is if an IPA has not been set up by the time of discharge(12mths from date of bc)then the OR can not set one up after. They run,as phil says for 36 mths from the first payment made.
So you could go 11 mths into your bc suddenly have an IPA come through. You will still get discharge a mth later but that IPA will last in theory for 35mths after discharge. I know an IPA isn't back dated but am I right in saying a NTIPA is? I never got one so don't know but assumed it would be as wouldn't have thought they would allow you to have that tax money to spend on yourself?:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0

Thanks all,
That makes sense now. I had not realised that an IPA was automatically for three years.
Only trouble is we are getting used to having the extra cash. Will find it hard when they suddenly want £500.00 every month.0 -
waspeze,
What is an NTIPA?0 -
it's the Nil Tax one (Nil Tax Income Payments Agreement)
If you get a Nil tax code i think this is what the payments you make relating to that are called... if that makes sense
