Hi folks
Have watched this DVD a couple of times with no problems.
Went to watch it at the weekend, and halfway through the picture pixelated, and the sound dissappeared. I wasn't able to pause it or stop it. It then continued to play as if there was no problem.
When I ejected the disk, I noticed some scuff type marks, not scratches, on the 'playing' surface of the DVD.
My question is, can these be removed, and how ?

Have you tried cleaning the surface of the disc?
Try using a clean, slightly damp cloth and see if that helps.
If the surface is actually damaged (rather than just having something stuck on it) you can try using one of the kits that basically grinds/polishes down laminate of the playing surface, but it's a hit and miss operation.

Have you tried watching it again, or rather fast forwarding to around the point that this happened? As most DVDs now released are dual layer, and they mention that there may be slight pauses half way through as it changes layers.0

Don't waste your money on expensive kits, toothpaste is said to work quite well on small scuffs.
Work from the centre of the disk outwards, don't use circular motionsThat gum you like is coming back in style.0
