NHS Dentist in East Belfast

My dentist is going private in September and, as I'm not that happy with them, I'm not prepared to pay all that money to sign up.

I'm trying to find a good dentist who is taking on new NHS patients. I'm a complete chicken when it comes to my teeth so I'm looking for someone with the gentle touch who'll understand when my knuckles turn white when I'm in the chair!

Can anyone help? I'm particularly interested in dentists around the Belmont Rd / Knock areas.

Thanks. I'd looked at that post and wondered if it was up to date. I checked out the Braden page and it looks like they're now private.

Given that it's a nationwide problem finding an NHS dentist I wondered if anyone had any more recent advice / info.

When my dentist went private I joined Alan Parker and Associates. We go to Heather.
I have never had a problem with them and found them extremely nice.
Never a problem getting an emergency appointment either.
Big thumbs up in our house.
  • I got home last week to find a flyer through my letterbox .... Cherryvalley have expanded and have spaces for NHS and Private patients. I remembered the name from the replies I'd got on the Forum. Perfect timing!

I gave them a call and have an NHS check-up booked with Mark Haycock next week. :D

So it's bye bye to my old dentist and having to pay an arm and a leg if I need anything major done.

A big thanks to you all and particularly to niceday999, red bertie and PandaPants for your recommendations.

  • Thanks for this grea thread. I am a member of a posh dental surgery, paying a monthly fee for quarterly checkup plus get discount if I need something done. But can anyone tell me re the NHS dentists - what do you have to pay for, Im just trying to see if it would be worthwhile. Ive three children too, who are on the kids plan but we are now paying for 2 of them aswell - rip off!
Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T
