Advantis Credit/Debt collections

Hi,
hope this is the right place to seek advice for Advantis Credit.
My fiancee received a letter 2 weeks ago from Advantis Credit. It stated that they were acting for their client Arrow Global and she was to contact them immediately regarding an outstanding Debt. She had never heard of either company so ignored the letter. She then received another letter from Advantis along the same lines but with the amount owed on it. I looked on this forum and found a suitable letter template to send them asking for proof and who they were acting for etc etc. She received a reply that states that the debt is with their client who provides telecommunication services (no name of company provided) They also have provided a mobile number that the debt relates to and a contract period the debt relates to being 30/09/1998 - 16/08/2004. My finacee is still none the wiser as to what this is other than it appears to be a contract mobile phone debt. Advantis haven't really provided any useful information and appear to have ignored all the questions we asked other than replaying with very little info. What we need to know is who the phone company is, proof of the debt exisiting and wether it is possibly statute barred (obviously dependant on when last payments were made/communication form my Fiancee etc). Anyone any ideas/letter templates to send to get this info.
Thanks for any help and advice,
Neil

Dear Sir/Madam
Ref: xxxxxxxxxxx
You have contacted us regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim is owed by ourselves.
We would point out that we have no knowledge of any such debt being owed to The Loan Company.
We are familiar with the ‘Office of Fair Trading Debt Collection Guidance’ which states that it is unfair to send demands for payment to an individual when it is uncertain that they are the debtor in question.
We would also point out that the OFT say under the Guidance that it is unfair to pursue third parties for payment when they are not liable. In not ceasing collection activity whilst investigating a reasonably queried or disputed debt you are using deceptive/and or unfair methods.
Furthermore, ignoring and/or disregarding claims that debts have been settled or are disputed and continuing to make unjustified demands for payment amounts to physical/psychological harassment.
We would ask that no further contact be made concerning the above accounts unless you can provide evidence as to our liability for the debt in question.
We await your written confirmation that this matter is now closed. Otherwise we will have no option but to make a complaint to the trading standards department and consider informing the OFT of your actions.
We look forward to your reply.
Yours faithfully

Well, just write back stating that the information provided does not provide any proof that the debt is owed/due. And that the details provided are nothing to do with your finance.
Plus that they continue to be in breach of OFT guidelines.
You can see the sort of wording that can be adapted in the letter.
State that if you receive even one further demand for payment without proof that any debt is owed, then you will report them to Trading Standards and the OFT.
