  • Forgive me for going totally off topic but all the best MSE'ers are on this thread and I am hoping for some advice. I have won another comp!!! That is the third this month. However, this time it is tickets to the Hydro connect festival. It looks like a good concert with a great line up but being in Scotland I cannot go. I have looked on eBay and the ones selling on there are doing well. I would therefore like to try and sell my tickets. However, this is where the problem lies - below is the email I have had confirming my win and you can see the problem...

Congratulations, you’ve won a pair of day tickets for Saturday 30th August for Hydro Connect Festival taking place this weekend (Fri 29 - Sun 31 August) in the grounds of Inveraray Castle, Argyll.

Please collect your tickets at the ‘Inveraray EntranceBox Office onsite. This is the box office closest to the Citylink bus drop-off points; we urge everyone to go green and travel by bus to the festival, visit www.citylink.co.uk/connect08.html to purchase your bus tickets now. Remember if you choose to drive, you will have a very long walk from the car park to the Inveraray Box Office!

Please note that this prize does NOT include camping and it is not possible to upgrade your winning tickets to include camping. It is therefore crucial that you ensure your travel arrangements to and from Inveraray have been arranged in advance. Visit www.connectmusicfestival.com/travel for more information.

Please collect your tickets only on Saturday 30th August. It is not possible to exchange your tickets for a different day, or to upgrade your tickets to include camping.

Please ensure you print off and bring a copy of this email with you, as well as photographic ID showing your name.

Please note these tickets are not transferable and are not for resale.

The box offices opening times are as follows:
    • Friday 29th: open 10am - close 10pm
    • Saturday 30th: open 10am - close 8pm
    • Sunday 31st: open 10am - close 6pm
Thank you for entering the competition and we look forward to welcoming you to Inveraray this weekend!

Y'see this really winds me up, why enter competitions when you know you cannot go? There will be people out there who really wanted to go, couldn't afford it, only for people like you to enter win the tickets and waste them, or selling them on for a profit when you've got them for free

    Anyhow, back on topic....

I received my exam pass bonus today, tax man has taken a huge cut of it, but ended up with £900 and also cashed in £67.50 from Rpoints meaning that I have smashed my target. Bit disappointed though as aside from the bonus, I have not really had a great month and would be coming in at around £5 a day...

  • I'm going to declare my final total for August as £258.43/£310.

I'm pleased I got that far. Earlier on in the month I was accepted by AQA so have earned nearly £100 doing that this month, but that's not included in my total as I only add it in when it's actually 'in the bank'. :D
Hopefully, I'll earn a little extra this way each month and keep the payments rolling in. :j

I am also going to declare today as I'm on holiday from tomorrow until 3rd Sept so no chance to earn from now on. Did sell some chairs that had been sitting in my outhouse to my lodger who's just moved out. 40.00 to add to my sig.

So August comes in at: 87/155 = 56%

Must try harder for September but we'll keep the target the same.

Can you put me down for 155.00 whoever's doing the list next month?
