Cheap KTC Brand Tinned Tomatoes in ASDA

If anyone is thinking about "downshifting" to these, stop thinking about it and do it. Stock up with a few. I reckon they are very good indeed.

On paper - the label - the drained weight is only 240g (compared with the ASDA standard own brand ones at 260g). On the plus side, they are from Italy, where they know a thing or two about tomatoes.

When I opened the tin, I have to say that I was most impressed. There may be 20g more juice than tomatoes than in the other ones, but it was really, really thick - some still stuck to the lid.

I've used half a tin in a batch of chicken curry, and it "did the business", as they say.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Can you remember how much you paid for them, Stephen? I'm off to Asda later so I may just look out for these!

    Thanks :D.

I was looking at getting some of these last Monday - I think they were about 43p a tin, although I'm not sure. My memory is about due for an upgrade. However, if they're as good as people say, I might just stock up :D

they are gorgeous......really thick and nice tasting.
as with anything else they've gone up recently.......we started getting them about a year ago when you could get 5 ktc tins for £1....then a few months ago they came off that offer and were 29p a tin then 2 weeks ago up to 33p.

Ooh, thanks Learning To Save! We're off into town ourselves in a bit, so I'll pop into Asda and pick up a few tins. :)
