Thank's guys, I'm going to give it a go.
I couldn't find anything better on Pricerunner, and I think I'll get 4.5% off using GP and my new Amex Blue card.

The only problem is I won't be able to check out MSE or read a paper for 6 months, just incase there is a better deal!!
  • I'm very very tempted by this one.......does anyone with lots of laptop/computing knowledge think there will be any decent pre-christmas offers from anywhere? i'm willing to hang on for a few weeks, but the tempatation's growing to buy!

I'm interested also. I need a LapTop so that I can access the internet remotley whilst out and about. This is my SOLE requirement. Is this laptop still a good buy on this basis or could i get away with a cheaper/less high tech set-up for less money?

Also whats the deal with remote interenet access? would i have to set up another broadband account (I am with wanadoo for my home pc). How reliable is the connection etc etc

    regards huggins

That's because it is a good laptop (well spec'd) at a very good price.

I picked up the same laptop for £609 before any CC or rpoints discounts a few months ago. However I did get a free laser printer with it. Mine came with a DVD Writer as well, don't know if this one does.

Its a decent speced laptop however be warned by the following: no in built mic, no infra-red, no serial port for mouse/keyboard (have to use up one of your usb ports for that).

Also the hard-drive can sometimes feel a bit slow and it can get a tiny bit noisy.

However overall i'm pretty happy with it, for the price anyway. Afterall its a Centrio laptop with a decent amount of RAM and harddrive and comes with an average graphics card.

I'm really pleased with the 2200 I got last week for £419 - now showing for £551 so they do occasionally do deals on laptops.
