    Hi

You could try blowing a hair dryer onto the edges of the label, this will soften the glue and should peel off in one go. I've never tried it on wine bottle labels but it's great for stickers on the bottom of shoes and price labels on presents.

Try soaking in warm water. If the glue is water-based, they'll be easy to peel off. You can then wash off all the glue, dry them on a plasticy surface.

Didn't leave them long enough  Non water-based glue

I'm not much help - I'm usually wanting to remove the label to save the bottle/jar for filling with HM produce, rather than the other way round :D

You could always take a photo - if you used a mobile you would have it with you when you go shopping

My Mum used to collect wine bottle labels but for some years they have been put on with glue that isn't water-based and doesn't soak off.
  • Maybe if you filled the bottle with hot water once it's empty, then it would peel off more easily after a while.
