Bank & Credit Card Company Inter-relationships

Hi
This is a warning to those in debt to be aware of any connection between your creditors and your bank.
I’ve just had over a week of worry due to opening a basic bank a/c which I later found out was part of the same group as one of my creditors. I’ll soon put the full story in my own little thread:-
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=95468&page=2
But in the meantime…
Is anyone aware of any website or article that lists all the main UK banks and gives the credit cards they’re associated with?
If there’s not a list out there, I think it’s something that really needs to be done – here would be as good a place as any
– if it can prevent someone making a really bad financial mistake.
For example:-
Royal Bank of Scotland operate the MINT credit card, but also own the Natwest, so if you owe money to MINT, they could try to take it from any money you deposit with NatWest.
It’s blindingly obvious when you know. The problem is that the bank and credit card companies don’t go out of their way to make you aware of the relationship.
Wondered what others think?

Just like to point out that the HFC Bank is itself part of the HSBC, limiting the options even more.
Anyone after the complete Royal Bank of Scotland Group Structure may find this useful:-
