Would the OR mind?

OK I've hit my first crisis since going BR, my vaccum cleaner has just died  of course in times past it would have been straight out and let the credit card take the strain  but the new sensible and BR me is trying to figure out how to now get one. Of course all non essentials like clothes and hairdressing on my soa can wait so I could use that money towards one, but then to be honest there was very little non essentials on my soa so it would take me ages just by doing that. So question is do you think the OR will mind if I try to sell a few bits to raise money for a hover?

Just waiting for the next thing, having one of them days and they say things come in three's  1) found I was sharing bathroom with mouse this morning:eek:  but not sure which of us was most scared because when i screamed mouse dissappeared like lightning. 2) hover died  3) ???

I've been doing this since we went BR.... selling little bits on ebay (kids clothes, unwanted bits & bobs) to help pay for 'extras', like the odd day out for the kids and stuff like that :)

why not have a look on the net for your nearest freecycle group. The rules are that people cane give stuff away that they no longer need but are useful to others and of course it has to be free. Dont panic if there is not one on these just request one and i bet someone will have one.

Another vote for Freecycle - we just *cannot* believe what people give away on our local one, totally mentally overly generous (or a sign of our consumerist/throw away society gone mad). Just google freecycle, sign up to it and away you go - we get the daily email bulletin that lists everything rather than logging on constantly and checking it and its really really good. And then you can sell the bits and pieces and treat yourself to something excitingly nice instead :)

    Good luck.

If Freecycle don't have any hoovers, I've sometimes seen very cheap household appliances on Gumtree. Might also be worth a poke around the local dump/recycling site. The chaps who work at ours set aside fridges, tvs, computers etc, though I don't know whether they've tested them prior to putting them to one side.
