Hello,
I understand that it may be hard to re-mortgage with a CCJ.
Does a CCJ have any effect on moving to a better deal with the same lender???
Thanks,

If moving lender then yes CCJ will affect you
If staying with same lender, and not increasing borrowing, then no it should not affect you - it will be a case of choose a new deal to switch on to and sign the paperworkI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Which lender are you with at the moment?0

NatWest ???0

Unless you're increasing the borrowing or anything they won't need to underwrite it again so the CCJ won't be an issue.
If you want to change lenders then it will affect you.0 -
Hi, thanks for the replies.
I'm on a 2yr fixed rate with NatWest at the moment, first payment was made in January 2007. However NatWest says my fixed period ends in October 2008? Wheres the missing 2 months?? Is this normal?
Yes I am planning on sticking with NatWest but just moving to a better deal, another fixed rate. However they have product fees of around £999. Can you add this fee onto the mortgage value or will I have to pay it outright???
Thanks in advance.0 -
Fees you can normally add to the mortgage.
Fixed rate - majority of fixed rates have a specific end date, so depending when you start your mortgage you don't always get the full 2 years.0 -

Does this not increase the mortgage value, hence classing it as a re-mortgage. Will they still run a credit check exposing the CCJ???
Thanks,0 -
Fees aren't counted no.0
