If you're already a customer, they won't find out you're BR.

Be careful here.......... from experience they are not the best ones for moving dd to new bank account.

We moved account and gave them SIX WEEKS notice. They tried old account of course did not go through. They CANCELLED my payment plan AND rate.

Tried to resent but got told pay all accounts first!!

So when you open new bank account after BR, watch them.

There's no reason you can't open a coop account in anticipation of BR. That's what I did and also many other people have done. You can have all the direct debits you want to carry on with all set up before BR day and everything will run smoothly.

I answered this on the Gas/Elec board... I'm with SP and have been before and after my BR and have had no problems at all. Ok SP are a nightmare when it comes to setting up DD's, but so are most places... have been having issues with water companies recently too! As long as you're organised you should be fine... :)

MissMuppet - how were they after you filed BR, we have biggish bills with them. Elec on prepay taking 5.00 a wk for arrears and gas on payment plan paying 5.00 a wk arrears.

As in my name these arrears will go in BR, would they insist on deposit for the gas????

    Hi Msampson,
We're with Atlantic who are part of Scottish Power, going BR has made no difference what so ever to our tarrif.

Luckily I didn't have any arrears with my rent or utililty bills when I went BR so they may have been different with me if I had... None of my utilities knew I had gone BR, and as far as I know they still don't. I may have just been lucky. Sorry I can't help. :)

I've got a number somewhere (I will look it out). SP would prefer it if you tell them then you can go on a cheaper rate. Will get the number for you.
