Photo album with pockets for 6” x 4½” (digital) prints

When searching online, these seem to be a bit thin on the ground. Search engines and price comparison websites seem to have a problem with ‘4½’ and ‘4.5’, turning them into ‘4’. Those online shops I have looked at don’t have ones with pockets for 6” x 4½” prints.

I was looking for one with 6.35 x 4.28" pockets but was dismayed to find that they hadnt made one specifically for me, the thoughtless b******s.0

Apologies as this avoids the actual question (possibly), but I do like the look of these.
Photo albums printed out with your text and layout by colourmailer. I've not seen one, but am considering blowing a bit of cash on one to see if its nice or naff....
If you've not got your prints done, this might be a solution (or something to consider next time?) I tend to use the old fashion albums (with photo corners and the glassene interleaves) but this is through choice to be honest.

I’m not sure I understand that. 6” x 4½” isn’t a particularly non-standard size. Photos from digital cameras have an aspect ration of 1 1/3:1. The traditional size of 6” x 4” (1.5:1) requires you to crop them top and bottom to fit. See the Photobox Prices page, for example.Matthew2005 wrote:I was looking for one with 6.35 x 4.28" pockets but was dismayed to find that they hadnt made one specifically for me, the thoughtless b******s.
If the images were lovely high resolution ones, I might go for 8” x 6” prints, ignoring the extra cost involved. But, I didn’t take the photos, and the maximum resolution of the camera used was 1600 x 1200 pixels.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -
Thanks, EvilMonkey. That looks interesting. The photos are for my parents, of my sis’s new baby. I’m sure they’ll be acquiring many more in the series.
When there are enough good ones to fill a ColourMailer album, I’ll give it a good look.
My parents have got lots of old 6” x 4” pocket photo albums, with all their film prints in. That’s the reason I started looking for ones for 6” x 4½” prints. I’ll have a look at ones that use photo corners.EvilMonkey wrote:I tend to use the old fashion albums (with photo corners and the glassene interleaves) but this is through choice to be honest.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -
One option could be to print your pics at 6 x 4 but crop them yourself - you will have to use a photo printing service, i personally use Photobox (not sure who else does this) - where you can manually crop - more detail here https://www.photobox.co.uk/quality
Although the photobooks Evil Monkey talks about are really cool.

Just a quick update, I downloaded the software for this and am in the middle of putting one together. Software is VERY simple and easy to use. From my perspective so far this looks very good. I tend to print all my photo's the same size and put them in an album, this allows you a whole page for 1 photo if you like and smaller sizes if you want to fit more per page...
Am doing one for our last holiday, will post back with results when it arrives...
