ermmm....maybe if you tell us a bit more you will get some more ideas/answers!!!
Ie: this "place" you have booked...? what kind of "place".....if its a proper venue (eg hotel, room in hotel, etc) maybe theyd provide decorations>?? Or is it a village hall or something??
Have to say, tealights in jamjars or in punched tin cans are really pretty and they tend to have them at weddings which children are present at.....again - it depends on what kind of a venue it is though really - ie if you are having tables which are big enough that kids wouldnt be able to reach tealights in the middle.....
also - depends on what your partner likes - ie modern decor or old-style? Also.....is there going to be a theme...this can sometimes make things like decor easier if you pick an easy theme......??
Anyway - give us some more info and i am sure someone will get inspiration! :ABaldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0 -
Hi dont know if it is the sort of thing your looking for but on my 40th my sister made photocopies of a photograph of me(in black and white) and made a kind of bunting with them, Personally I really liked the idea and loved the fact that so much effort had gone into them.

the place ive booked is a pub but we get up stairs which as its own bar and closed from the public.they only hire it out, everything else you have to do your self decorations etc.ive hired a dj thats going to play all different kinds of music to suit all age groups...
i thought of themes but for a 30th i dont want it to sound too kiddie plus not sure if other people would come dressed up.also got to think how am i going to get my husband dressed up without spoiling the suprise.he doesnt like the idea of going into town fancy dressed as i wanted people to dress up for my birthday and only me and this other guy did.
The tables are not that big so im giving the tea lights a miss and might use glow sticks instead.
tab1967: i did think of the big picture of him when he was younger then a picture of him now thought that would be fun, just to see his face lol.
im really good at doing kids partys as we have two younguns but 30th im finding really hard

Hiya x
I am also having a nightmare thinking of ideas for my hubbies 30th which is on the 16th - eeek!
I went to a local party shop and have ordered some balloons - but they cost a whopping £50 so now anything else has to be done on a shoe string as the DJ / Venue / Catering is costing £850.
My ideas are to do jars of sweets - these look pretty and won't go to waste!

I am thinking of doing something like this - might just out jars on the table - I have a makro card to get cheap sweeties!
The other idea I had which looks fab is a memory tree - so instead of a guest book you get people to write a Birthday message on a tag / card and hang it from the tree

Any other ideas would be fab - with a little baby I am finding it really hard to find the time to sort decorations out!

Hi, Just wanted to bump this thread to find out how your party went!
I'm having a party for my boyfriend's 30th in November, so I was wondering if you had any tips for decorations that I could borrow (steal

Hiya x
Not sure how Kinky's hubby's party went but my hubby's didn't go that well at all. Not as many people turned up as we thought - and the DJ was a bit pants. If we could have our time again we would skip the party and splash out on a nice weekend in a hotel somewhere....

I'm starting to feel that way already and we haven't even had the party yet!0

I know how you feel, I organised my own 30th, which was 6 weeks after giving borth to my first child!
We just used old pictures of me and some baloons, looked OK. I wasnt going to spend money on something I was only going to pull down and didnt have time or energy to do anything else.0
