Hi all you may remember i won a wedding dress with wedding tv? anyway this was 8th may and they have confirmed it as me and have my name on the website etc...she asked me to send the dress i wanted and size so she could pass it on... this was direct with wedding tv. this week i have been chasing it up again as i still have heard nothing... the said i would get a call from whoever was doing the prize cant remember who it is though. she called me and said that the problem is that they dont have the dress for me.. it was a limited line and they are sold out... they have a sample dress that is for women to try on in a bhs in essex so they could get it cleaned for me.... this is rubbish i feel cheated... i am being offered a second hand plus dress... i have checked the bhs website and it doesnt show them as out of stock.. so what are thy doing to me. i have called wedding tv back but i cannot get hold of anyone to help me, they just say they will call me back and never do. what can/shall i do next i am fed up with being fobbed off.... they cant offer prizes they dont have surely?

I believe you can contact these folks: http://www.isp.org.uk/contact.php?pid=21 if they aren't coming up with the goods, but hopefully someone can confirm. Sorry to hear it's such a hassle!

Sorry to hear about all your difficulties.
My son was having a problem recently with non-receipt of a prize so he sent an e-mail and copied it to any other email addresses he could find i.e. senior management of the company concerned.
Here is the wording he used and it had the desired effect and an alternative prize of greater value was received. Perhaps you could use a similar approach. If it doesn't do the trick then refer to isp as per op's advice.
Suggest subject heading of email "Failure of Wedding TV to comply with the CAP code"
I am thoroughly disappointed that you have not had the courtesy to reply to any of my emails and I have to question your integrity, as a company, in running promotions , if you do not produce the prizes.
I do understand that things can go wrong when companies run promotions and if the original advertised prize is not available for whatever reason, I am prepared to enter into discussions with you about a suitable alternative.
If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily within the next two weeks, I shall have no alternative but to take the matter further, as I believe you have not complied with the British Code of Advertising, Sales promotion and Direct Marketing.
Good Luck. Thanks to all who post comps!0 -

So sorry to hear you haven't had your dress and who wants to be fobbed off with a second hand one when you were expecting a lovely new dress? I think Halkerstone's idea is a good one and I would definitely email again first. You could always say you expect a response within, say, 48 hours and if you don't hear from them or you're not satisfied, I would definitely contact the ISP. I did recently as a DVD win hadn't been received (slightly less important than your dress!!) and they dealt with it and forwarded papers to the Advertising Standards Authority. Surprise, surprise, the DVD arrived today! Good luck with your dress!A [STRIKE]B[/STRIKE][STRIKE]C [/STRIKE]D E [STRIKE]F[/STRIKE]G H I J K L M N O P Q R S [STRIKE]T[/STRIKE]U V [STRIKE]W [/STRIKE]X Y Z0
