frustrated tax credits overpayment pre bankruptcy

I am so frustrated with the tax credit people. They are insisting that I still owe them for a tax credit overpayment which finally made me go bankrupt because I felt that it was blatantly unfair what they were trying to do. There are two years when they are trying to retrieve money and both of them are before bankruptcy and I received final notification on both years but they still want to get the money back from me.
My husband and I accept that if there are tax credits to be repaid he will repay them but I am being told by the official receiver, the tax charity and on here that I should not have to pay but they still insist what can I do now?

best thing you can do is ask them or NO in fat tell them that they must now contact your OR as this is no longer an issue you can deal with. Tell them as you have now told them this is they continue to call they are causing harrasment to you and they are breaking the law.

That should do the trick.

If you are having problems then ask who your case workers Assistant OR is and write to them saying you are unhappy that your case worker is not dealing with this and how much stress is being caused. Then if that fails find out who the OR is.

I would agree with k2nga. Just tell them that you cannot speak to them about this anymore and to contact the OR. Hope you get it sorted.
