Hi, we were first time buyers 3 years ago and took our mortage out with northern rock which is due to end on 1st oct 08. We want to change lender, can you offer any advice or do you know of a good mortage deal?:o

Hi
Impossible to offer advice as you haven't given any information.
You could start by having a look at best buys on a site like www.moneyfacts.co.uk to get a feel for what's on the market.0 -
You need to read the mortgages articles on this site too! Go on a few websites and find out what deals are out there. Also consider how high risk you are as an applicant - if you are low risk (of defaulting or losing your job) you should be able to get a good deal, if you are higher risk, try to apply somewhere you think you have a good chance of acceptance.
You can sometimes get mortgages even on short term contracts if you do it via your bank for example where you might not get one easily or at the right rate on the open market. You need to work out what the right deal for you in your particular circumstances.
