I've just received an email from spain-travel-car.net who are offering a further 5% discount if you book before 12 December 2004. Their rates start at 12 euro's a day apparently. Worth a look and Holiday Autos'will pricematch!CHEAP IN COST NOT IN STYLE...0

I joined IAPA (Airline Passengers Assoc) for a free 90 day trial.
Gave me 25-30% Hertz discount, which gave me the best deal at Valencia airport.
I would recommend using Hertz or one of the other big brands, as you will have more comeback if things go wrong. Holiday Autos are a front for little local firms - so cheaper - but less concerned at their image if things get difficult. Just my two pennorth.

When I went to Andalucia this summer I got the best deal with Whizz:

Sounds ropey but it wasn't. They used centauro rentals which was excellent, as everyone else faced massive queues at Avis and Hertz desk. I just wandered up to the Centauro desk and picked up the keys.
More advice - check the car thoroughly before you drive off and take note of any scapes/dents that are not already recorded. Then go back to the desk and get them to sign off on it. If you don't do this guaranteed they will try and pin it on you and make you pay.0 -
You must try https://www.carjet.co.uk They are car hire consolidators. I have used them 3 times and so have many of my friends in Spain. There is very little small print with no deposit and extra drivers free. Do give them a look. I have no connection with them whatever- I'm just a well satisfied customer.if i had known then what i know now0

We used Europa Rentacar booked through drivespain.com. Basically the same website as carjet but I found them to be a couple of quid cheaper when booking a car from Alicante.
Cars are good, reliable and modern. Free extra drivers, roofrack, and baby seats, and very little smallprint.
The only slight con was that we had to pay for a full tank of fuel on taking the car out, but you can return it as empty as you can get it!0 -
There's 10% discount with Budget if you quote BCD Number G488400
Not sure if it's best to call or use website.

I know they do rentals in Spain so might be worth a go

Alas, no. It was an offer on their site about a year back.

I second carjet, they are well priced and last time we used them we got our car from record car hire, so a good company.0

Just watch the hire scams in Spain. They include pay for full tank take empty back - yeh! how you do that! Another was to demand a £25 deposit and repay it in Euros. The "check the dents" advice good as you could be made to pay for damage already on car. Another was a bald tyre on car handed over at night and then read the small print - nothing below wheel arches covered by insurance, so all punctures, wheel damage and underside damage to be paid for. Yes, I would stick to Hertz and Avis etc in Spain. :'(0
