I was wondering whether anyone has any advice regarding the iron. Whenever I use it, there is water collecting underneath the board. It then drops down on the floor. I have put a towl underneath the cover of the ironing board, but it makes no difference.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

My friend has exactly the same problem with her ironing board, all droplets under it and a puddle on the floor, so its not a faulty iron, what other ironing boards are there besides the wooden board ones?

Hi I think that boards for these irons are mesh instead of solid so the steam passes through them.

My ironing board (about 27 years old now!) has a metal ironing surface beneath the cover, with quite a few holes punched in it. Whilst using the iron, it gets hot enough underneath to double as a central heating radiator, but no drips of water, thank goodness.

I tend to have to leave it propped up against the back door for a while/overnight to allow the cover to lose its dampness afterwards.

  • Is anyone still waiting to receive their iron? I placed my order at the beginning of October and i'm still waiting!!!

Have you got the iron turned to steam all the time. You only use the steam when you are ironing then turn it off and iron the item dry. You don't lay the iron back on the generator with it switched to steam. Hope that makes sense it is easier to show you then explain.
  • mmmmm chocolate whoooooo. I hope I get this one:D
