Newbie @ MSE

Hello,

I have been browsing through these forums for weeks now, have found lots of interesting threads and have recently decided to get off my !!!! and sort out my debt.

My current situation is this:

I am 25 Years Old, male and a Full Time Police Officer. I got engaged last year in Florida and will be getting married next summer. Myself and the Fiancee hope to get our first place together this month (Renting).

BUT....My debts are as follows:

Capital One CC: £200
MBNA CC: £2400 (CC Charge letter sent this week for £899)
Tesco CC: £3000 (Paid Off Today in CASH)
Citi-Financial Loan: £8000 (PPI Letter Sent this week for £1700)
Littlewoods: £450

I hope that my PPI Claim and MBNA Claim go through ok, I am also in the process of reclaiming Bank Charges, but like most of us, waiting for the final decision to be made!

I hope to become an active member of these forums, and welcome any advice on how the fcuk I can pay off the above by the end of 2008!
Is this unrealistic?

Thanks for listening, feel better already!

    Hi Ross and welcome!

It often helps to do a Statement of Affairs, or SOA.
There is a great template on https://www.makesenseofcards.com, if you wish you may post it up on here and we can help you with the overall situation

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    Hi ross21096
Welcome to the DFW world, congratualtions on the engagement. Try the links below to post your SoA, and some excellent friendly & helpful people will come along & give you a lot of help, and also the snowball calculator, you'll need your APR's, minimum payments & outstanding balances for both, the snowball calc is very addictive because you can play around with the payments to see when your debt free date will be

Hiya - welcome to DFW :)

If you post your SOA (I will be back in a sec with the link for it), we can have a look at it and see if we can make any suggestions. It may well be achievable - it all depends on what level of disposable income you have, and whether you are able to cut back your outgoings/increase your income/both. There are loads of good idea on here, and people are generally lovely.

Good luck with getting it all paid off.

Edit - link for SOA is above - someone beat me to it! :D
