I've had wrong prices in Sainsbury and all I got was the difference that was overcharged.

It depends on how hard you complain, I was overcharged by JS on 2 items and went to CS. Offered the difference. I explained that Tesco's offer full money back and this is no disincentive to JS to overcharge people as the worst case scenario is if someone spots they have been overcharged they get the difference back.

I asked to speak to the manager who advised me that they could at their discretion offer a full refund on overcharges and offered me my full money back. What he was basically saying is that they will try to fob you off with the difference however if you cause a scene they will give you the full money back. I don't know if this is policy or whether the manager used his discretion in this case.

It would be interesting to see how you get on

Sainsburys are not as easy-going as Tescos in my experience. I've been there a couple of times and bought items that were in 3 for 2 offers. When I went to pay I discovered the offer had ended and they'd forgotten to take the notices down. On both occasions they would not honour the 3 for 2 and made a right fuss when I wanted to return the three items.

I have usually found that they offer me a full refund on the item over charged if the item was not too expensive ie. only a few pounds.
