Csa

Hi
Can anyone help me and esp anyone who works at CSA.
My ex was paying me £122.50 a month maintanance until March this year when for some reason it stopped. I rang them and they advised that he had finished working for his employer ( he had a detactchment of earnings with them for the csa payments) and he had started a temp job. They advised that they were going to reassess the case after 13 years. So they sent him and myself a ltr with a form to complete for financial info. I sent mine bank months ago and as of yet he has not sent his back in. He now owes arrears of the back dated payments of £122.50 a month since March and they are yet to reassess case. I rang CSA today as I have done every week and they advised that they are going to send him another letter today and that he has 7 days to send in his financial details and if he doesnt then they will get in touch with HMRC for details about his earnings . I also spoke to the debt collection side of the CSA about the arrears and again they are sending him out a ltr to ask for the arrears and he has 7 days to respond and if not then they could start court proceedings and for every ltr they send out after that they will charge £60 per ltr.

Does anyone else have any dealings with the CSA like this and will I be sucessful with getting the back dated money or do you think that I wont ever get it as I seem to ring them week in week out and nothing seems to happen

Cheers

Why they couldn't approach HMRC in the first place beats me, but they must give the NRP the "opportunity" to provide his new financial details. They normally give 2 weeks to respond to a letter and then another goes out. Sounds like they haven't been as quick as they should have been with these letters.

Push them to contact HMRC now.

The arrears on the old assessment will continue to add up.Whether you will receive the arrears and actual maintenance once he is re-assessed depends on his current circumstances.

Speak to a Complaints Resolution Officer if you are dealing with a Case Officer.
  • Ok thanks
well will give them 2 weeks and then will ring them to chase up and if nothing started to happen will complain
