I suppose it has to be that way so that you dont go stashing lots of moola with family members ect prior to BC then getting it back afterwards. Very compicated and a minefield. Although what would the OR do if say you payed back your sister £xxx, and the OR asks for it back and they dont have any £££ to pay with??
Well I am in the middle of compiling info for the OR as to what loans I paid off for OH. I will let everyone know the outcome. I did say to him, what if OH can't pay it back, and he said it will be looked into, but if they can't pay it back, they can't pay it back. Though I suspect, if they are earning, they will have to. But as I said, will keep you all updated."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

I got to speak to the OR yesterday re the letter she sent my daughter asking for money back. She was very pleasant and helpful, she said that as long as my daughter replied and explained that she is not in any position to pay this money back that will be the end of it. The lady OR said that they have to be seen to be trying to get as much money as possible back for my creditors but if my daughter doesn't have it then she can't pay it back. I also asked her if there could be any comeback on my daughter and she said no, and that once my daughter has replied that will be the last she hears of it.
Hope this helps anyone else out there with a similar query.:T0 -

Glad to hear your good news, that will settle your mind a bit. That is really helpful to hear that, I think that you have been lucky. I have asked around, including the insolvency helpline , they insist that the OR has greater powers of retreiving money, but I suppose every case is different, as well as every OR0

gosh im really nervous about this ive paid a few bills for my hubby, car payment before it was sent back and insurance for car, my parents took out a loan because we couldnt get credit that was used to pay off his csa arrears and do up the house we bought and im paying the loan payment on that theres no way they could afford to pay it themselves, there worse than the credit companies when it comes to that loan payment all i get is "we need that money, you have to still pay that money" i feel like i should just struggle on with my debts rather than br because all though they drive me mad i dont want to lumber them with paying that back themselves for 12 months.0
