PRINTER Canon PIXMA 600: 5 (!) Ink Cartridges.

Sounds like chipped compatibles are way more convenient. I'll need the price to drop though. As they have just hit the market I hope this will happen soon.0

I've got a Pixma IP5200 and recently bought unchipped compatibles for it.
Transferring the chips was a bit of a faff and took a while before the printer would recognise them - got there eventually. I've now had to disable the ink level monitors on the cartridges.
If the price of chipped compatibles comes down I'd quite like to be able to use the ink level monitor again rather than changing cartridges when the print quality reduces. Is it possible to reset the printer so that the ink level monitor is no longer disabled? If yes, then now?0 -
I got some un-chipped compatibles from Aldi or was it Lidl.
The 26 ml "big" black cartridge has been flashing for about a fortnight.
Managed to flick the chip across the room when prising it from the original tank..
Hands and knees and a lot of cursing.
But God was on my side.
Put chip onto new tank and everything works; though the chip still "knows" it is nearly empty. The originally German instructions explain how to say "carry on" to the printer, so I guess I will have to cross that hurdle soon.
I think I will by the ready chipped ones next time from one of the links on this thread.
Thanks everyone.
