Officially bankrupt!

Filed for bankruptcy today with OH. We arrived early at court - had an 8:40 appointment. The clerk saw us at 8:40 and went through the forms with us. We had a panic moment when she handed the forms to us and pointed out that the dates and types of card were not filled in (although we had completed this on line!). Anyway, we sort of guessed and put in when we thought the credit was taken out. The clerk said to come back in an hour, which we did. We were handed our bankruptcy number and said that the Judge had stamped our forms and they would be with us tomorrow. She said that if the OR hadn't called by Monday lunchtime, we were to contact him/her.
So, all in all, a fairly painless procedure. The wait was the only stressful part as we were convinced that something would go wrong.
We came out feeling as though a weight had been lifted from our shoulders. I am sure it will get a lot worse from here, with OR interview and eviction, but I feel on the way to recovery if you know what I mean.......
Just want to say to anyone who is nervous about Court - don't be.
I will keep you updated re OR interview.

Congratulations, the OR interview isnt that bad (well wasnt for me), 99% of the posts on OR experiences were very positive.
Keep your chin up, and welcome to your debt free life.
Shadowdragon."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Thanks for that. I can tell you that I don't think I would have got through any of this without the forum. Although I don't post a lot, I certainly lurk!!!:T0

My interview lasted just over 2 hours face to face but it wasn't a straightforward case. At no time was I nervous, I just told the truth on a need to know basis. I felt better when it was over but it wasn't bad.
Lurking is fine!
