BTW if you did decide to negotiate a settlement, I would ask them for confirmation in writing that 1) The sum of £xxx(whatever you agree on) is accepted in full and final settlement for account details xxxx.
2) No further enforcement action will be taken regarding the excess balance either by Lowells, the original creditor and ANY other third party (in other words they promise not to sell it on)
3) I would also ask that you credit file is (at least) noted as fully satisfied with a ZERO balance. This is the least I would negotiate for if they don't have a valid CCA. But you could try for default removal or even removal of all notes relating to the account off you credit file.
