Ex can be released from the mortgage but he has to sign, and hes unlikely to do so if he gets the chance of making my life difficult. I am yet to hear if i will lose my pension if i take up a job - there are 3 jobs I have applied for at my kids' school which would be ideal, same hours as the kids ;D
BUT I *might* lose my pension, council tax benefit, free school meals, free prescriptions/dental treatement, milk tokens.

Would you be able to claim DLA for yourself -as you had to retire on health grounds and were getting IB-presumably you have health problems that disable you? (unless they have got better hence you being taken off IB..)

i stayed on income support while i finished off uni, that was 3 years ago. i got married a week after the final year started but they said as long as i was on income support when the course started the fees would be free and they couldn't make my husband pay them. but you're not on income support so this probably doesn't help, however i believe the rules might apply to any means tested benefit such as council tax benefit etc. so you may be able to stay on your current income.

i'm not sure how much you'd be able to earn before losing all of those other benefits, hopefully somebody can help you work it out. i know if you're on income support as a single mum you can earn £15 a week before they start taking money off you. it's not a great deal but when you're skint every £15 helps lol! i did an avon round and more recently a paper round (the free local paper, you can deliver it anytime over wed/thurs, pay between 7 and 15 depending on how many leaflets). i'm working in mcdonalds now, school hours during term time. it's not my dream job and i didn't see myself doing this when i went to uni but my child has priority, he's a bit autistic and can't stand childcare.

when my sister was working and her little boy was of nursery age she put him in the local daycare nursery for however many hours she worked and the government funded 2.5 hours of each day. he also went there for 2.5 hours each day when she wasn't working. they had to cover the national curriculum and only did the nursery teaching once a day so she wasn't able to add up the entitlement of 7.5 hours free nursery and use it all in one day because they only sis 2.5 hours of teaching per day, the rest was childcare.

You can earn £20 per week before they take the money off your Income Support, then it's pound for pound.
