• Another interesting site that I found recently because others on this forum had mentioned it in their posts is called https://www.downsizer.net. (sorry I cant do links) There's lots of familiar names over there, and it seems quite similar to Old Style.

I'll add the first one to the grow your own section later. I think we have the downsizer one collected. As has been said, we have a lot of posters in common :)
Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Board guides are not moderators and don't read every post. If you spot an inappropriate or illegal post then please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com. It is not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. Any views are mine and are not the official line of MoneySavingExpert.

A couple of weeks ago SilentFlute posted a link to Frugal Genius UK which I registered for and got an activation code but it still won't let me log in to the forum - two weeks later it still says my account is awaiting approval from a staff member. Has anyone else registered and had more success?

I did wonder if it might be that and i have been into Internet Explorer and Windows security to enable cookies and everything seems to be OK. There is something odd about my settings because every time I click on a link it closes the browser and opens a new window which means the back button won't work. I don't know how to fix it - I wonder if it is McAfee being a bit nannyish.

Anyway sorry this is off topic (though if anyone knows how to fix it I'd be ever so grateful - I'm quite computer literate, eg reinstalling Windows and reformatting hard drive doesn't faze me- but this has me stumped)

have you been able to get signed up yet? yahoo is really strange and irritating and does weird things, too bad i can't get everyone to use the forum i started up years ago (( minor gripe, over now)) i'll have a dig and see if maybe you're bouncing, that could be the problem.

EXCHANGING PERSONAL DETAILS

Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons I have to discourage swapping, buying and selling on the forum (please see this rule). While it can be a very useful way of saving money it relies on a certain amount of trust between members and as such can cause problems (and has in the past). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Board Guide edit: I am sure you meant well but please do not post personal details on the forums, thanks :)
