Hope I've changed my settings correctly and wait to hear from you0 -
Hi again- hope things are OK.
Get me out-brilliant idea about credit union, I would never have thought of that!!! I think you may have the answer there.
Another couple of ideas:
As well as working tax credit, have you claimed housing benefit and council tax benefit? Even though you are working you could be entitled on a sliding scale?
If you don't qualify at the moment, it might be worth you claiming incapacity benefit (because you have a mental health illness which is under clinical supervision) and going part time (you can still work and earn up to about £80 a week)- that way your entitlement to all benefits would be dramatically improved, and working part time might give you the breathing space to sort this out-50 hrs a week, plus health problems sounds like a tall order for anyone going through all this as well. Just an idea- you've obviously paid national insurance and you do have a debilitating illness.

You dont automatically get full housing benefit or Council Tax rebate when Claiming IB or DLA, both my partner and I are on these and only get a small contribution to Rent and no CT rebate. If you can get Income Support that is different as you automatically qualify for rebates."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Working tax credit is something i actually hadnt considered. Just presumed it was more for families. I didnt earn a lot last tax year but will do this year. May have to post on the benefits board and learn a bit more about how its calculated.
Didnt know anything about the trusts idea, will definately apply... all I can waste is time!
Thank you to everyone. Ive already got seperate tabs open exploring these options!Debts incurred through illness and homelessness, starting a degree in September, going bankrupt in November and having a well deserved fresh start in January 2009! Bring on the new year! Interested in thrifty living, and if its green all the better for it! xxx0 -

Have a look at this website, it shows what tax credits and benefits you are erm.. entitled to. I get £400 a year just for myself (plus child element on top) so you can definitely get it if u dont have kids depending on income. xx0
