Anyone know of a photography course being offered in or around Belfast? I suppose I'm talking about at least intermediate and possible advanced standard, and preferably part-time. Something that would cover DSLR use and Photoshop techniques.

The Belfast Metropolitan College offers courses which should be starting again in September. You can get more info in the prospectus which you should be able to get a copy of in any library or by contacting them direct.0

They also do City & Guilds photography courses, but they are pricey.:hello:v :money:0 -
i have done the city and guilds course a few years ago at the college square tech belfast, it was not to pricy then, they do concession rates depending on your circumstances. really good course, teaches you everything you need to know

Hi bevrob. Thanks for the reply. Does the description of the GCSE course in the link above sound like what you did (15 weeks as opposed to 30 weeks)? Going by the descriptions on the BMC site the C&G course actually sounds more advanced and closer to what I am looking for.0

hi psybear, its very similar to the second one listed, a/s level although when you click on this link it says that its gcse. we had to do 3 sets of course work throughout the 30 week course. For example i chose "bridges" as my first project as the title was "WHERE I LIVE". the second project you could choose fro either portraitue photography or documentary photography. the third project had a wider choice and had something for everyones teste, i chose "natural world". in each you put togerther around 10 images and a study on a photographer of your choice. More importantly the course was great craick and am looking forward to returning in Sept.
i think this diploma couse had 5 modules and is a little more difficult. are you a member of www.flickr.com if not you should join amateur or professional its great for ideas. bev0 -
Yes, member of flickr although I haven't posted that many images. I realy just want to improve my knowledge as an amateur photographer. I have DSLR and have read some books and websites about exposure etc, but I feel that I need the discipline of a course to really ingrain all I should know about ISO, exposure, shutter speeds, aperture etc.0
