Cripes! Just realised we've hijacked Bald Runner's thread! Does this mean we can be done for obstructing an enquiry?0

Vividly. And that ice-cream that was part-strawberry, part-chocolate and part-vanilla. And sweet cigarettes. And cherryade. And fish/meat paste. Given the 70s diet and the fact that our mums would have been able to smoke and drink through pregnancy and bottle-feed us without a ticking-off, it's amazing we're all still here!
OK. I'll go quietly now, officer.0 -
Lily that sounds just like my child hood. Mum never tires of telling me how it never harmed her or me :rolleyes:BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Neopolitian - we saw it in Sainsbury's the other day and Mr Pixie remarked he was surprised they were still allowed to sell it today what with the no fun brigade on everythingVividly. And that ice-cream that was part-strawberry, part-chocolate and part-vanilla.
Saw these on an online sweet shop the other day - again was surprised they are still allowed to sell them (or perhaps they're not and it's all under the counter hush hush lol)And sweet cigarettes.
Funny you should say that - don't know if anyone watched the BBC programme 'Supersize me something' where they ate through all the different time periods and the 70's was one of them, and very surprisingly it turned out to have super healthy benefits to the two people who did it, loosing the most body fat and lowering cholesterol etc etc - very surprising. Although am with the slightly sarcastic tone in your voice and longing for such a period againAnd cherryade. And fish/meat paste. Given the 70s diet and the fact that our mums would have been able to smoke and drink through pregnancy and bottle-feed us without a ticking-off, it's amazing we're all still here!

And sorry for *really* hijacking the thread.

Okay but I have to draw the line at those pies in a tin - what were they called?

Don't know what they're called but they're still on sale in Tesco!!! Probably the same ones, as I'm guessing a sell-by date of 2025. I see Angel Delight is knocking around too, though only in multipacks of three flavours. Am now feeling awfully guilty about obstructing the law. Dedicated nostalgic foodstuffs thread, anyone? Or even nostalgic perfumery/cosmetics? Saw a bottle of Eau Jeune in a French supermarket year before last and nearly bought it to conjure Proustian memory of third form. Still miss the scent of Anne French Cleansing Milk too.....
EDIT: Can I suggest we proceed in an orderly fashion to the local public house and continue there? Perhaps someone more tech-savvy could move this stuff to the Inn? Apologies to Bald Runner and DCI Dez for going all facetious in the first place. It's a curse, this brain of mine.0 -

I'm drinking Blue Nun and Billy is eating Olde English Spangles and Cadbury's Apple Strudel.
If you can't spot me in the crowd, I'll be reading Jackie and wearing Miner's make-up.0 -
