6month loan needed (like egg, but not egg)

hello there,

new to the site and think it's great!

I was just wondering whether anyone had seen a 6 month loan option similar to egg, but not egg. I only ask as their rates are high but I can't find a way of finding out ALL other lenders minimum terms.

any help much appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

  • Hi bikerchris

    Welcome to the forum!

Take a look at http://www.moneysupermarket.com/loans/ where you can stipulate the term you are interested in.

There are a handful of providers that do 6 month loans, I think cahoot works out a little cheaper than egg. Have you considered stoozing the amount on a 0% credit card ? It would be cheaper still !

  • What you can do is look for a lender that doesn't charge any penalties for overpayment. If there is a high amount needed for a better rate simply borrow more than you want, and send them back a cheque for the difference.

I did this (with Egg funny enough) sent the cheque before the money had even cleared in my account.

Cheapest way is definately with a 0% credit card...

6 months interest at 1% (the premium that EGG or Cahoot charge for their 'flexible' loans) on £10,000 is only £50.

Certainly has to be cheaper than an overdraft or loan with repayment penalty.

Depends how much you want to borrow. Fee free 0% credit card for six months has to be best of all as suggested above.
