Capital One PPI Refund

Hello,

I’m roughly halfway through a loan with Capital One Bank, when I took out the loan I also had the PPI. As I’m now self employed and the insurance doesn’t cover me I asked them to remove the PPI from the loan. They responded that it could be removed but I would have to pay them £273!

It seams a bit strange that I have to pay £273 on top of the PPI premium of £890 for 18months worth of cover to cancel a policy that no longer covers me. They have also stated that it’s their final response.

I was thinking about going to the FSO but I’m not 100% I know what I’m complaining about! Can anyone offer any advice?

Many thanks
