jacking my job, JSA?

after returning from work overseas I was on the dole for about 6 weeks until recently taking on a temp job. I'm doing this to support me financially while searching for graduate level positions.
Thing is i've been doing interviews around the country and with working full time it seems a bit of a challange.
As the temp work is out of town I dont get much spare time to get on the job hunt and i'm worried it might affect my future career. It's not helped that the work is incredibly dull.
I'd like to know where i'd stand with JSA if i were to quit? I really dont think i can stick this job any longer but I'd struggle to cope without any benefits. Any advice folks?

What's it going to be, eh?

You would be sanctioned (i.e. receive nothing) for up to twenty six weeks.Gone ... or have I?0

hmmm i suspected as much.
wish i hadn't taken it on now. not only am i putting in stupid hours of work and travel but i no longer get interview expenses covered by job centre. In fact this week i'm actually worse off due to 2 full day assessments and an interview.
thinking if i have a word with the temp agency I could have my assignment finish early rather than quit. What's it going to be, eh?0 -
The Jobcentre may well write to the agency to ask why your contract ended. It is not in the interests of the agency to let you finish early, or to lie to the Jobcentre!Gone ... or have I?0

It'll look much better on your applications to be working rather than unemployed. Surely graduate level jobs will be paying your travelling expenses for interviews?0

It's quite common with some big grauate schemes to not pay travel expenses for the first 'sift' or test, especially if they're holding regional events.
I do sympathise, I did this myself about five years ago. have a word with your temp agency about your contract ending (just tell the truth) or finding another postition that might be a bit more exciting.
It's always easier to find another job while you have one. You're just that bit more motivated and in touch with the workplace.0
