It's a while since I've made that.....basically because it turns the kids clothes blue. Why does red cabbage do that?
Moggins, I ususally buy red cabbage from my local Tesco....quite often when it's reduced as it lasts long past it's use by date.

It should be around in the late autumn, maybe not available in supermarkets as it isn't the most popular type of cabbage but I have seen it on the local market.0 -
Its not exactly a vegetable combination, but peas with mint butter are delicious.

That's a favourite in our house too! I make mine with either Lidl's bacon misshapes chopped up, or if I'm feeling lazy then a pack of the bacon pieces that you can buy for pizzas salads etc

mushrooms, courgettes & leeks, sliced and sauted in butter, with thyme & balsamic vinegar :drool:0

I love the red cabbage combo - but I add sultanas to mine too.
I also adore the whole veg in balsamic vinegar thing - mushrooms, courgettes, onions, garlic, tomatoes - fresh basil on top
I add garlic to my cabbage/sprouts and bacon. Shred finely, fry in butter with the garlic and bacon bits - makes a nice change on Xmas day

Cauliflour and/or broccolli with mushroom and garlic white (bechamel) sauce - not made that for ages, it is seriously scrummy!0
