Tesco's shop expensive but now have lots of pasta, egg noodles, tinned tomatoes and sweetcorn to add to the glut of stuff! my plan is that I try to get through July only needing milk, bread, fruit/veg.
oh, and I seem to have put on three pounds but judging by what I've eaten this week that's probably not too bad....Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Rant alert!!!! CC just got blocked - v embarrassing...called up to find out why and a lady informed me that I'd tried to buy sportswear (a whole £16) in a shop I'd never used before so this was fraudulent activity.... was the shop near me - yep, do I buy sportswear - yep.... mmmm.... so now I'm gonna be too scared to use it anywhere I haven't shopped before!!! What is the point of it being a worldwide brand if you can't use it in your hometown? they've taken the block off now but I've raised a complaint as I'm now going to be very reluctant to use it anywhere. BTW - wasn't adding to debt just think it's a good idea to keep one card in use and pay it off monthly so had the money to use debit card.

So how did you use those other shops which you have used before - the first time?

I did ask her that and pointed out that last year they let me buy a car for several thousand at a place I had never used before without even a security call... I did say it was nothing personal and I understood that they have procedures but that I still wished to complain and that if I wasn't satisfied I'd be off.Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Well I can understand their wish to spot patterns of fraudulent behaviour, most notably it saves them money. But a single event is not a pattern - by definition. And a small transaction in your hometown is not unreasonable for you to do - several thousand in the Phillipines is more suspicious.
Perhaps it was the "fashion police" filter that triggered: You weren't buying Kappa were you?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

:rotfl::rotfl:no, it was just gloves and shin guards for DS (essentials not fun stuff). they actually blocked 3 transactions - twice in the first shop cos they blocked it first time but the girl just thought it was a problem reading it then I tried in another shop but it was stopped by then. but she was saying it was suspicious cos there were three attempts...there wouldn't have been if the first one had gone through. like you say if it was abroad or several huge amounts fine but not on one item in home town!Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

and in other news...I tried a new perfume today (basically cos you got a lovely beach towel if you bought it) can't remember the make but it might have been Paul Smith... to get to the point - it smelt like parma violets intially and now it's incredibly like that white musk stuff Body Shop used to do! maybe it's designed for folk who have money now and are a little nostalgic but me no likey!Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
