How Do I Stop 'Tucows' On My Computer

Options
When I do a search on the internet and find the site I want as soon as I click on it I get another website called Tucows. It tells me the site I have chosen has a domain problem and to search for it through them. I have checked my start up programmes and also run spybot but Im still getting it. I dont know where to look for it or how to delete it. Can someone help and explain it really simply cos Im not good with the techie stuff. thanks.

Is this happening on multiple sites? Are you trying to download anything?

Hiya. Virtually every website I am trying - all the holiday ones - first choice, thompsons etc. I enter what Im looking for in the search bar and all the websites come up. As soon as I click on the first website of what Im looking for the Tucows website comes up. I then delete that and click on the site I want and then I get it but I always get Tucows first and Ive never used the site (or heard of it) until yesterday. I use google search and have windows 98. thanks.

No idea but tucows.com is a fairly well known site offering software downloads. As far as I know it is not a suspicious site.

Does it happen when you type an address in, or just when you click a link after doing a search?

When I click after doing a search but sometimes it can take me at least 10 attempts before I can actually get into the website I want without the Tucows keep coming up. thanks.

Are you on IE, Firefox, Opera or some other browser?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
