Any specific reason why she hasn’t paid even a token £1 towards her debt ?Vagabond_UK wrote:My sister's daughter took out an order with Kays last Xmas for £200. She paid the first repayment and nothing since, so now she has a collection agency on her back. It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -

No specific reason i can think of. She split with her boyfriend just after Xmas and with a now 6month old son i can only assume she either can't or won't pay...0 -
If she makes them an offer, and perhaps sets up a standing order for even £10 a month, they'll accept, and her debt will be gone within 2 years.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Perhaps on her own and with a young baby to provide for even that would be too much.gravitytolls wrote:If she makes them an offer, and perhaps sets up a standing order for even £10 a month, they'll accept, and her debt will be gone within 2 years.
However even if she makes a payment of a pound a month until she is in a better position financially this has got to be better then what is tantamount to obtaining goods by deception
Most people on this site have serious financial problems, but I doubt many of them brought something made 1 payment then decided it was a bit of a hassle or inconvenient to pay back the rest ( even at a reduced rate )
Sorry to sound harsh on this one but if we all look at the header on this page it reads

MONEY SAVING EXPERT not DEBT AVOIDANCE EXPERT
This isn't about 'morals', it's about the LAW. And your qualifications to judge a poster?0 -

Thank you file_wizzard, for being brave enough to post that!
I did start a thread on this sort of debt avoidance thing yesterday and now it has disappeared! Perhaps it was too controversial....still, my number of "thank you"s has gone up rather a lot since yesterday. It's a pity that I didn't get to see the replies.
Thread hijacking over......now, where were we.......
