Can you give some more details ?
You refer to this as a bank account for 42k, from 3 years ago, is this a debt you are aware of, and what dose it relate to ?:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
I must admit I am confused...are you saying that the mortgage hasn't been paid or is this another completely unrelated debt?
The worrying thing (in addition to this £42K debt!) is that you say that 99% of your debts are paid on time and regulary paid/uptodate....that means that there's 1% that isn't.
Post all the details of your expenditure/income and I'm sure we will be able to come up with a plan of action for you.2014 Target;

Right
I know you say you can not tell your dad but you really do need to confide in someone - having this sort of worry all on your own will send you crazy and to be honest, dealing with your kids problems forms a large part of the job description of being a parent.
I don't know how the building society managed to track you down after all this time but you do really need to speak to them....if only to get the interest and penalty payments frozen until this mess can be sorted out.
Have you got ANY paperwork relating to the initial query? Any proof at all that the bank said they were going to look into the matter for you??? If you have I guess your case will be stronger.....btw did you move inbetween this happening and now?
I know that this will be a drop in the ocean but do post your incomings/outgoings together with details of your debts (balances/aprs/limits) so that any advice can be specific.2014 Target;

If I understand the position correctly it is this.
You owed about £25,000 and for three years you have ignored this debt.
Meanwhile you have other debts on which you are not in arrears.
You now own a house and owe your dad £6,000.
The £25,000 debt has increased to £42,000.
I have worked for a lender.
A lot of the clients were in arrears.
The chance of getting any money from some of the clients was almost zero.
The lender told me that he would "try again in 3 or 4 years time" when
their circumstances might have changed.
I am surprised that you were able to get a mortgage when you owed £42,000
on one debt, £6,000 to your debt and several other debts................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0
