Can't Return to IKEA what to do?

We have a few items that are from IKEA that we tried to return today but because we don't have a reciept they wouldn't even give us credit although I was sure they had in the past.

They said we could return them with the card receipt but some of the things are outside their 90 days and it's an 80 mile trip to IKEA and back so for the sake of £30 quid it doesn't seem worth it.

So would these items sell on ebay? We've got curtains, a cupboard door, wardrobe clothes rail and a shelf. Or can someone suggest some thing else.

Really annoyed with myself for loosing the reciepts!

  • I would definatly sell on an auctions site although if you have never done this before it may be worth doing a free one (google online auction sites for a full list)rather than the palaver of setting up an ebay account and paying the fees. Do collection only for the shelf and cupboard door though!

For sure - we sold a few bits when moving house last year & got just under what they cost us in the first instance! Well worth the ten minutes it takes to list them...

    Good Luck

I took some stuff back to Ikea today that I'd lost the receipt for...I bought them in Sept 2007, so not surprised I lost the receipt.

They accepted the items back as they were still part of their range and I took a bank statement with me which showed a large Ikea purchase from last month which more than covered the cost of the items I bought in September.

Ikea only a 5 minute drive though- not sure if I would have bothered for an 80 mile round trip.
