I have today received a statement from Equitable advising my present AVC
is valued at £402. and when I 65 will pay out £1.00 per month.
However I took this out before I was made redundant with the company I worked for and have a deferred pension with that company.
My question is can I do a transfer value to my new employers scheme without transferring the deferred pension as well.

The only way to find out is to ask Equitable Life: their scheme rules will deal with transfers-out. The normal options would be:
1) transfer to another AVC
2) transfer not allowed unless main scheme benefits are transferred too
3) transfer to a stakeholder contract.
This list isn't exhaustive, but these are the usual actions.
Hope this helps.oceanblue is a Chartered Financial Planner.

Yes, but you need to be more specific. The changes from next April run to hundreds of pages of legislation and regulations.
Is there something in particular you want to know?0
