Question about Tesco Credit Card & Clubcard points

Hi, this is probably a stupid question but I can't find the answer

I have a Tesco Club Card in my name.

DH has a newly acquired Tesco Credit Card in his name.

I know he will get points for spending money on the credit card (which we intend to pay off each month) but can we register my club card against his credit card account, or will he have his own club card in his name?

He has his own Clubcard in his own name. You may be able to link your number to his account. My OH is a secondary card holder on my account so we got around it that way. The credit card can be presented simply as a clubcard if you wish, it does not have to be the payment method as well.

I'm sat here sulking because I have just discovered that you don't get points for cigarette purchases!

... not sure how that is going to work

My Club Points card is linked to Dh's.

We also use the Credit Card for purchases and pay off in full each month - works for us.

And us! As soon as I've used the Tesco CC I get home and pay off the bill straight away - its a nice extra way of getting points!

I imagine (hope!) that you will still be able to use any vouchers together, as we both have linked Tesco clubcards and I'm a secondary card holder on my DH's CC. It is a good idea (says she!) as hopefully it will be easier to see that you havent been diddled out of clubcard points!

I am a bit concerned about how the vouchers will work out but I think that the separating of the two sets of points will be linked to tax efficiency. The CC is run by Tesco Personal Finance as opposed to Tesco itself. Therefore at the moment Tesco are stumping up the cash for the extra points awarded by TPF which doesn't seem like good business sense to me.

I have a Tesco credit card and a normal clubcard. Today, I did some shopping and used my credit card spending about £20.00 forgot to present my normal clubcard so points went onto my credit card points balance. Now for future when shopping do I

a) use my credit card and get them to scan my normal clubcard OR
b) use my credit card also as my clubcard.

If I do option (b) am I earning more points ? isn't is 1.5 points on a spend ? I know we have about 13,000 points on our clubcard but about 1,500 credit card. Thanks for your help - we are new to using our credit card.

I should also add that the clubcard is linked to the credit card.

You just need to use your credit card. You should get your standard 1 point per pound for the clubcard and then an additional 1 point per £2 for using the credit card.

I have both a Tesco CC and a tesco Clubcard and also so has my other half. It works out far better to keep them seperate.
This means we get 4 separtate statements each quarter, each statement giving extra points for spends on certain products and also 4 lots of any discount coupons.

My Tesco CC is my main credit card and over the course of last 3 years the amount of Tesco vouchers I have received is phenomenal - I never use them in store i always use them for things like season tickets at Thorpe park for both children and hotel breaks for OH and I. Also Blockbuster is a good offer you only need £11.25 of tesco clubcard vouchers to get 12 coupons for free DVD/Video rental.

So my advice is keep them seperate and enjoy the rewards
Several times in store they have offered to link my clubcard to my CC but I always say no.

Thank you Joe13 - we have already linked the clubcard to the credit card but as it is 3 clubcards per household maximum we have another 2 clubcards on the go aswell. Having joined every possible club for the 3 clubcards I am also delighted at the amount of money off/point vouchers I am currently receiving. However, I think best practice is to use the credit card as my clubcard wherever possible to gain the extra points through the personal finance element of the card. Thank you for your advice.
